TRANSMISSION TECHNOLOGY FOR EVERY APPLICATION

The advantages of symmetrical all-wheel drive (AWD) on the Subaru XV comes with efficient manual or automatic transmission for full fruition. The precise, soft gear changes make every move on the road light and supports the fuel efficiency of the engines. The symmetrical drivetrain with linear force flow is doing its part for easy, precise switching capability.

Transmission with AWD LOCK VISCO

Rapid response and control of both 5-speed and 6-speed manual transmission helps you to live out your own driving style. You have the mountain-traction “Hill Assist”, which prevents rolling backwards when starting on a slope. The gearbox is combined with a four-wheel drive system with center differential with viscous lock. If the traction balance changes , this differential distributes the torque as required to the front and rear wheels.

Lineartronic + Active Torque Split AWD

The SUBARU XV achieves inspiring levels of response and efficiency with Lineartronic. By keeping the engine running in its optimal rev range and preserving the momentum that’s often lost during a gear shift, this unique transmission dramatically maximises fuel efficiency. Lineartronic is also longitudinally paired with an active torque split AWD system that responds to traction conditions by continuously controlling the torque distribution front to rear.

Shift Paddles

In conjunction with the innovative 2.0-liter engine models with Lineartronic, depending on the variant by its sporty manual mode with paddle shift even more controlable by allowing a rapid speed increase and a spontaneous increase in engine power.

„Dual-Range“ – Speed reducer

1.6-liter models with manual transmission are also equipped with the “Dual-Range” – Speed reducer. This provides you with a total of 10 forward and 2 reverse speeds – for optimum progress under difficult conditions such as driving on slopes or in trailer operation.

Cruise Control

Whether manual or automatic transmition – the standard electronic cruise control enables the driver to drive with pre-selected constant speed on open road. The elegant controls are incorporated into the steering wheel.
