Under the aluminum hood of the brand new WRX STI lies heart of its stunning performance. A SUBARU BOXER 2.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 221 kW (300 hp) and 407 Nm of torque and provides an electrifying acceleration from 0 to 100 in just 5.2 seconds. But with SI-Drive, you can adjust its power by opting for one of three driving modes – from gentle and efficient way to completely unbridled. The engine also benefits from the Dual Active Valve Control System (Dual AVCS), which ensures a good torque curve over a wide speed range.
2.5 DOHC SUBARU BOXER Turbomotor
Few motors have the same reputation for pure excitement on any road as the 2.5-litre turbo of the WRX STI. It flawlessly fuses raw power with total poise as its turbo spools almost instantaneously and unleashes power for intense acceleration. Proven over the years, its performance has been made only more thrilling in the WRX STI.

Subaru’s renowned Symmetrical AWD platform and its core tenets of horizontal symmetry and low centre of gravity are now available in their full potential in a hybrid package. The system features compact, high-performance motors and batteries mated to the Symmetrical AWD. The drive motor has been built into Subaru’s “Lineartronic(*1)” next-generation transmission system positioned low in the car’s body. The Hybrid Lineartronic has been newly developed while retaining the inherent benefits of the Lineartronic system, as well as optimising each and every component and improving fuel economy. A Boxer Engine has also been specially engineered to suit the hybrid platform, featuring the Subaru Boxer Engine with a modified compression ratio and reduced friction levels to deliver better fuel economy and operate with less noise. Fuel efficiency on the road is even better with “SI-DRIVE(*2)” and “ECO Cruise Control(*3)” functions designed for optimum control to suit the driving conditions.
